Notes from Austin
Grateful for 15 years—and ready for the road ahead
Dear Metro Relief Family,
As we step into the second half of the year, our hearts are full of gratitude and
purpose. The North Texas heat makes life on the street even more dangerous, and
your life-giving donations provide water, clothing, food, and assistance in
helping people relocate off the streets. Through your support, God continues to
move. Recently, a young man, whom our Mobile Case Managers helped move off the
street, sent them a poem—an unexpected gift and a beautiful reminder that steady
relationships make room for hope.

This summer, Metro Relief celebrated 15 years of meeting people where they are and
helping them take the next step toward stability. Church mission teams, students,
bus outreach volunteers, Mobile Case Managers, and skilled professionals have all
helped carry this work forward.
Your financial contributions help us deliver on our calling to serve God’s people
in need. Together, we are solving homelessness, one precious person at a time.
Please reply to this note, visit our center, volunteer, or join us in prayer as we
bring Christ’s love and lasting stability to the streets.
With deepest gratitude,
Austin Bonds

North Texas Giving Day culminates on
Thursday, September 17, and early giving begins today. Help
Metro Relief reach its $100,000 goal and keep mobile

Social outreach in action
Help hope reach farther online
Homelessness is often hidden, and the people experiencing it are too easily
reduced to statistics. When you follow Metro Relief, you help real stories, urgent
needs, and pathways toward stability reach more people across DFW.
Follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram—then like, comment, and share.
Every interaction can challenge an assumption, invite a volunteer, connect a
resource, or inspire a gift. It is one more step toward solving homelessness.
Metro Relief is coming to TikTok soon.

October 8–9, 2026 · Across DFW
Pull up a seat. Hear the story.
Conversations on a Bench is a 24-hour, continent-wide livestream created to
replace stereotypes with honest, human stories about homelessness, addiction, and
mental health. From October 8 into October 9, Christ-centered ministries across
North America will listen, learn, and share hope—one conversation at a time.
Metro Relief will take that conversation on the road throughout the Metroplex. Our
team will visit downtowns, encampments, wooded areas, and other places most people
are unwilling to go—engaging our friends, listening without judgment, and
recording interviews with those who choose to share their experiences.
These conversations give our neighbors a voice and help the wider community see
the person before the circumstance. Follow Metro Relief during the 24 hours, hear
stories from across DFW, and discover how listening can become the first step
toward action.

Meet Metro
Austin Bonds
Austin founded Metro Relief in DFW in 2011 after years of serving people
experiencing homelessness in New York City. His mobile-first vision still
shapes the ministry: meet people where they are, build trust, and pursue the
practical next step toward stability. As Metro Relief’s reach grows, Austin
remains hands-on with the buses, the team, and friends on the street.
