25 IN 5: THE VISION GOES SOUTH
Metro Is Mexico
On January 9, a Metro Relief team will begin a journey to Mexico City. In
partnership with Hope Sojourns and God's Kitchen, we will serve alongside local
leaders who are already caring for neighbors experiencing homelessness,
displacement, and recovery.
This is not about arriving with all the answers. It is about bringing Metro
Relief's relationship-centered experience to the table, listening carefully, and
helping a trusted local ministry strengthen a model that fits its own city.
The journey is a practical next step in Vision 25 in 5: Metro
Relief's commitment to help build or impact 25 communities worldwide in five years
using the Metro Relief model. That vision grows through collaboration, mentoring
and training local leaders, learning from each community, and equipping people who
already carry a calling for their city.

Build with local leaders
Metro Relief will help God's Kitchen and other ministry leaders explore how
consistent outreach, trusted relationships, practical care, and pathways
toward stability can be adapted for Mexico City. The goal is not to copy
Dallas. It is to share what works, learn what is different, and build
something locally led and sustainable.

Let the journey change the traveler
Meaningful service begins with humility. Team members will listen before
acting, learn from people who call Mexico City home, and allow the
experience to deepen their faith. We hope every traveler returns ready to
notice people more carefully and serve more faithfully in everyday life.

Grow a partnership rooted in Jesus
Metro Relief, God's Kitchen, and Hope Sojourns share a desire to grow in
wisdom, capacity, and love. Together, we want to serve practical needs,
strengthen lasting relationships, and carry the love of Jesus Christ to all
of God's people.

USE THE VOICE YOU HAVE
Vote
This newsletter will never tell you which candidate or party deserves your vote.
We will ask you to use the voice you have.
Many of the neighbors we meet on the streets face voting obstacles most of us
rarely have to consider: replacing identification, receiving mail, confirming a
registration address or precinct, finding transportation, and keeping track of
deadlines while meeting the daily demands of survival.
If you have identification, a stable address, transportation, and the ability to
participate, do not take those tools for granted. Decisions made by voters and
public officials shape housing, mental-health care, substance-use treatment,
transportation, public safety, and the systems that affect people experiencing
homelessness.
Homelessness will not be solved by one party, one candidate, or one
election.
It will require people with different experiences and ideas to show up, listen,
and take responsibility for the common good. Study the issues. Vote according to
your conscience. Add your voice to the work.

A WARM INVITATION
Share the warmth already in your closet
As autumn deepens and winter approaches, please take a few quiet minutes to
look through your closets. You may find a coat that no longer fits, a hoodie
you have not worn in years, or an extra blanket that could bring real
comfort to someone sleeping outside.
We are collecting clean new and gently used blankets, hoodies, jackets,
coats, sweaters, wool socks, and other warm items. Please choose things you
would be glad to receive yourself - clean, useful, and ready to wear.
What feels forgotten in the back of one closet can become warmth, dignity,
and care on a cold night.
