Joy is a state of mind and an orientation of the heart. It is a settled state of contentment, confidence and hope.

You wouldn’t think that our friends on the street could have joy in their circumstances but our friend, Tino, found joy.

Tino was homeless for over ten years. When we helped him replace his ID, he told us, “You don’t understand what joy I feel right now. I can’t stop looking at my new ID. I can’t believe I’ve got it in my hand. I’m all choked up about it. So many doors are going to open up for me.”

Investing in Tino and helping him secure his ID brought joy to his life. He said “I don’t want to be one of those statistics out here, that got beat up or killed on the streets. It’s not safe.”

Having an ID did, indeed, open doors for Tino. He was able to secure permanent housing, so he is now off the streets and safe in a place of his own.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.

Philippians 2:1-2

Give the gift of joy by donating $60 to replace lost ID’s and open doors to greater resources. Your gift will bring joy to someone just like Tino this holiday season!
