I'M READY

Meet our friend, Pepe

In 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, Pepe lost 4 brothers and sisters and was suddenly the Patriarch of the family. He ensured that all his nieces and nephews were taken care of and looked after. It all became too much and Pepe checked out of life and ended up on the streets. As you can imagine, it hasn't been easy. To compound the difficulties of being on the street, he lost a leg to diabetes. He hasn't let this dampen his spirits or hold him back. He has been in Plano since 2022 and Metro Relief met him in early 2025. He is ready for change and motivated to make his comeback. We have gotten him all of his vital documents and he is currently on the housing list. Pepe says that when he gets off the streets, he wants to become a bilingual 9-1-1 operator in Plano. He wants to give back to the community who has helped watch out and take care of him over the years.
